Air Gun Shooters,

The March 16, 2013 match had a medium turnout with eleven air gunners. This was the last of six matches of this Fall/Winter Indoor Benchrest season at CCRP. The temperature indoor stayed between 45 & 46 degrees during the match.

Harvey had cup cakes with a St. Patrick’s Day theme and cookies for all.

The Golden Cuspidor sat on Mark Burns bench during this match since he was the February 2013 winner with a 1,000 – 79x score.

Overall scores were superb. Great shooting by everyone. There were 5 shooters out of 9 with scores of 991 or better. Eleven targets with 250 out of 250.

There was a tie for Match Winner with the “x” count deciding the winner. JD Dodge took Match Winner honors with a 999-71x with Gerry Smith close behind with a 999-64x. Gerry took First Place in PCP Class.

Second Place PCP went to Mark Burns who shot a 998-75x. John Calhoun took Third Place PCP with a score of 991-63x. John Calhoun borrowed one of JD’s EV-2’s for this match. Maybe there is an EV-2 in John’s future.

Harvey Gertson was First in the Springer Class with a 998-75x. See, the Springer’s can give the PCP’s a run for the top spot. Jim Benson took Second Place Springer with a score of 989-62x. Jim experimented with different pellets with and without lube.

Shooters Equipment:

JD shot an AA EV2 and AA 8.4 gr. pellets. Gerry Smith shot an Anschutz 2002 with Qiang Yuan pellets. Mark Burns used a TM 1000 with JSB 13.4 gr. pellets at 760 fps. John Calhoun used an EV2 with JSB 8.4 gr. pellets.

Harvey Gertson shot a FWB 300 Tyrolean with secret pellets (maybe Chinese). Jim Benson shot a FWB 300S with various pellets.

JD will be the holder of the Golden Cuspidor at the October 19, 2013 Match.

Big Thanks to Dave Zinski, Gerry Smith, JD and John Mickel who scored the targets after the match. Thanks to Dave Brown for recording the results. Additional thank you to JD for taking photos (great to have). Also thanks to the Shooters themselves for attending.

In the email reminder about the March match I told about the Top 5 shooters average after five months this season was 992. The final average for the Top 5 shooters this season (Oct. 2012 - Mar. 2013) is 993. Scores are sure close at the top.

You too can improve with practice. If Harvey can do it anybody can. Hope to see more of you when we start the Indoor season again in October 2013.

Harvey

Thanks for the report!

Harvey, Thanks for running the matches and posting the results.
Enjoyed JD's pictures for the indoor season.

Question? How wide is the range? In the pictures it looks wider than 75 feet? If so would CCR&P let you shoot a match side to side using portable pellet traps? Then you could join in the World Postal indoor matches shot at 25 yards indoor. Just a thought?
