The December 15, 2012 match had a great turnout with seventeen air gunners shooting.
This was the third of sixth matches of this Fall/Winter Indoor Benchrest season at CCRP.
The temperature indoor stated at 40 degrees and went up to 43 degrees.
The Golden Cuspidor sat on JD Dodge’s bench during this match since he was the November
2012 winner with a 998 – 75x.
Harvey posted a "Bounty" on JD and had him wear the "Target" so ALL would know whom to beat.
Harvey was slick and collected the "Bounty" all by himself with a margin of TWO X's!
AND..........with a "Springer"??!! Good shooting Harvey, for sure!
Overall the shooting was great. There were only 6 points between the 3rd best and 8th best score.
Dave Brown brought his brothers Rod and Rick which were new shooters. They both shot well with
all scores in the 240’s. Will Ulry gave it a try with a break barrel springer.
As mentioned, there was a tie for Match Winner between JD and Harvey Gertson both shooting a 998.
The ‘x’ count decided the winner. Harvey beat JD by a huge or slim margin (depending on who you ask).
Harvey had 72x and JD 70x. JD took 1st Place PCP with his 998-70x. Terrific shooting by both.
This was an early Christmas present for Harvey.
Harvey did this with a FWB 300 Tyrolean Springer using Qiang Yuan (Green Box) 8.2 gr. pellets.....
(will there be a run to buy these pellets?). This score surpasses Brent Saunders record Springer score
of 995-49x set in November 2008. Harvey’s ‘x’ count is the second highest to JD 75x he shot last month.
Rumor has it that JD is going to get a FWB 300 and put away his EV 2.
Second Place PCP went to Gerry Smith with a score of 988-47x and Matt Mickel took 3rd PlacePCP with a 986-46x.
Jim Benson took 1st Place Springer with a score of 985-47x.
Second Place Springer went to Walt Schumacher with a score of 975-34x. Maybe his personal best.
Third Place Springer goes to Will Ulry with a score of 677-1x.
Dave Brown shot a good score of 964-28x with his CZ 200 pistol (Piffle). Nice going Dave.
Shooters Equipment:
JD shot an AA EV2 and used AA 8.4 gr. pellets.
Gerry Smith used an Anschutz 2002 with RWS R-10 pellets.
Matt Mickel shot a CZ 200S with JSB pellets.
Jim Benson shot a FWB 300S using JSB match pellets.
Walt Schumacher shot a FWB 300S using JSB Exact Express 7.7 gr. pellets.
Don’t know what gun or pellets Will Ulry used.
Starting the New Year Harvey Gertson will be the holder of the Golden Cuspidor at the January 26, 2013 Match.
