Ray..

Are you worried about the front end of the scope hanging out unsupported or is there something we can't see in the pic?

Of course with so little recoil it may not matter??

If the gun was a beater I might have drilled and tapped the front rec ring and added a section of base there. Since there is basically no recoil I am not going to worry about it. The gun shoots great as is.

Also, I had enough adventures just making that little short section of base

with two double screw rings you have lots of support - and all the working parts of the scope are in the back anyway.

The reason I asked is that the old "rumor" is that even the weight of a sunshade on a scope is bad mojo. Of course you know how rumors are in Benchrest. You win something with that setup and next week everyone will be moving their front ring to the back.

So when are you starting the "tinker toy air rifle?"

How are you liking it?

I kinda felt like a jerk when I got home, I should have topped it off for before I left. But with us jabbering I forgot about it.

I just committed to a HW100, so I will have a gun for your BR match. Hopefully it shoots well.

I decided the BSA superten just need too high of a fill pressure to work with my filling equipment. Plus the bottle makes me a little queezy looking at it, man it's ugly.

Jon,
That's funny. Sometime this morning I thought "I shoulda got Jon to top up my cyl before he left " or better yet watch me top it up to make sure I got it down pat. No biggie. I did go to the Air Hog site and I eventually found the charging kits. I am going to call them tomorrow and later take the tank up to the dive shop.

Right now I am trying to decide how to proceed with the scope mounts. I think I will modify another set of Kelblys. The Daystate dovetail is wider than the original Steyr sight base. I took the rings off the Steyr and they wouldn't fit the CRX. I will have to order a 60 degree cutter to widen the dovetails in the Kelbly rings.

I AM NOT using unmodified BKL's on a decent scope. I will probably take my set of BKL's and bore them ROUND so they properly grip the scope tube instead of crushing it. Then I can use them with my 2>7 3200 Elite and put that on the CRX for backyard rodent control when the CRX is not pretending to be a BR gun.

Later
Ray
