I can be accused of living in the past, but I am not enthused with VV N133's touchy tuning characteristics......humidity, temperature, and phase of the Moon. I am about out of GI 322 and 8208 and remembered that in years past, Norma 201 was the powder of choice for the PPC. It does have the positive attributes of being available and not that much more expensive than the VV powders.
Here's the question: what are the 201 loads that gave best accuracy for our b/r game?

Any real reasons not to try it?

Thanks in advance!!

I've not tried the recent 201 offerings, but since it became available again in the early 1990's, it wasn't the same powder as was so popular early on with the 6 PPC. It wasn't as hot, nor the same formulation. It took nearly all you could get in the case (similar to N133). It would shoot groups, but probably not as well as N133.

I have tried Norma 200, and it will work, although it is HOT. 51 clicks will go fast enough.

Old Vs New

I recieved some new 201 from powder Valley Yesterday. It now
comes in 1 lb cans instead of the 500 grams of old days. At 52 1/2
I got 29.5 old and 29.3 new. I cronographed it today. The new
gave 40 fps less for weighed loads. Es was very close as was Ex spread.
8 shot groups were nearly identical. Fouling was no different that I could tell.
My old can was nearly 20 years old. The difference is about the same as one could expect from one lot to another. Both groups were about .240
At times my lot of 133 has PMS. Seely and Doc Maretzo and
Many others shot it about 29.5

Thanks to you all....just what I need to know!!!
