Ordered the upgrade kit, from a local Ace Hdw, finally came in today, part# LRB-07. Carefully inserted the tri-bulb into the 2 holes, all the way in, set the chrome reflector ring on top, and the threads on the Stainless screw-on adapter could not be made to contact the threads on the mini-mag. The reflector ring seemed to be too long, keeping the threads from engaging. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I just put a kit in both a mag light and my borescope a few days ago. Make sure the pins are all the way in. Then try just jiggling and turning the reflector, you'll find a spot where it goes in enough to allow the threads to engage. Be sure to check that it will light before putting it all back together.......the LED is polarity-sensitive; you may have to pull it back out and turn it a half turn to get it to light.

Not sure if it's the same but I have the Terralux kit and it came with a different reflector to accomodate the larger LED. The factory reflector would not work.

Dave Short: A very big Thank You! I was able to place the reflector ring on top of the bulb unit and use it to help push the 2 pins all the way into the 2 holes: threads engaged fully. Again, thank you, ( from 12 miles South of "the burgh" PA).
