Hi,
I am an airrifle enthusiast from Secunderabad, India.
I am new to benchrest shooting, but am interested in
the same. Can the experienced members in the forum
give me some pointers to start with? I own spring powered
airrifles of 0.177 and 0.22 calibers.

My basic questions are:
What type of support should I be using for benchrest shooting of airrifles?
What is the recommended hold (fore and aft)?
What type of grip is recommended?
What is the recommended position for benchrest shooting of airrifles?

Thanks in advance,
rk

Hi,

I am new to benchrest shooting, but am interested in
the same. Can the experienced members in the forum
give me some pointers to start with? I own spring powered
airrifles of 0.177 and 0.22 calibers.

My basic questions are:
What type of support should I be using for benchrest shooting of airrifles? Most guys will be shooting off a front adjustable rest with a rear sandbag

What is the recommended hold (fore and aft)?
I use a very slight grip on the stock, mostly to ensure I am pulling the trigger smoothly, although some guys will shoot freee recoil

What type of grip is recommended?
Light as possible on most guns, since there is almost no recoil

What is the recommended position for benchrest shooting of airrifles?
Sitting behind the bench on a properly adjusted stool with wind flags placed just below the target.

Thanks in advance,
rk
