I have been lurking around as a guest for a month or so. I have always enjoyed shooting holes in paper with my custom 10/22, but over the past couple of months my 11 year old daughter has taken interest in target shooting. Some research led me to this forum.

My first intent was to build her a custom 10/22. After reading all the threads i decided that maybe that wouldn't be the best option for her or myself. Since then i have been looking at bolt guns, mainly the CZ rifles. I understand as far as the standards on this board, CZ rifles are not up to par with what you guys shoot. I have also been looking at the Russian made CM-2 rifles. So, for my question...... Has anyone had any dealings with the CM-2 rifles? If you have, what do you think and how is the accuracy? I'm sure there are many that are better, but for the money what do you think? Is there a difference in the Adult and Cadet model as far as accuracy?

Thanks in advance!

Getting your daughter interested in shooting is great! Benchrest is a lot of fun and she will meet a few other juniors. Have you considered getting her into Olympic style 3 position shooting (Prone, Kneeling and Standing)? That is smallbore. They also shoot air rifle. Might depend whether you have any junior groups around your location. One plus is she might meet many more her age if there is a local junior club and if she is only moderately successful she might get a full college scholarship that would be worth far more than her shooting equipment. I have known about 4 or 5 young folks in the last few years who shoot around here who have received full scholarships. Currently there is a young lady of 15 or 16 who shoots as well offhand as I shoot prone ( I think I did beat her once when she was 12) who will no doubt get a scholarship if not an Olympic opportunity in a few years. There are many types of shooting to have fun, but this is one that can also have great rewards.

cm2 question responce

There are a few cm2 's shooting with us . If tuned and the right lot of ammo we have seen mid 40's . Thats not bad at all shooting off a sand bag with a factory rifle.
