New Sinclair Rifle Rest

Has any one used the new lightweight aluminum rest from Sinclair?

I'm in the market for a new rest for informal shooting and load development. I don't want to have to mortgage the house and sell the first born, so something around a $150.00 is appealing.

Right now I am leaning towards either the Sinclair or Hart's basic rest. I like the tops offered by Sinclair better than the one that comes on the one by Hart.

My only concern is the weight. The Sinclair is advertised at 6 pounds with sand bag. I have weighed a Hart that belongs to a buddy of mine and it comes in around 11 pounds.

Right now I am using the rest made by Protektor. It is in the same weight class as the Sinclair, but has a much smaller footprint and is not as stable as I would like.

I was hoping some one would have some real world input on this rest and is willing to share it.

Thanks in advance,

The caldwell lead sled is only $100. I has been great for me, I love it.

Sinclair lightweight rest

I recently bought one and like it a lot. I also bought the longer screws and the wide bottoms for shooting in sand/loose soil as you never know what kind of base you will be shooting from.

I just purchased the new Lahti rest for the AR. It will arrive next Tuesday. If anyone is interested I will post my first impressions.

Go Heavy

I really think you will get better results with a heavy set up.

I even filled my rear bag with #8 shot.

The rifle will move in recoil, but your set up should remain in place.

With either brand they will last a life time, so spend the cash now.

I have a Hart.

Sinclair wasn't even making them when I bought mine.
