got a new rifle coming it has a weight system in it construction ,i understand it is designed for both heavy varmint and light varmint classes
.how does this work.i assune it will be set up for light varmint and the add weights to bring it to heavy varmint class with a change in barrel size also.

You understand correctly. While weight is nice; balance is nicer. You want the rifle to ride the bags smoothly and not jump around.

I have a Change Over Rifle. It makes <10.5 with the weight taken out of the butt stock and <13.5 with it in. That does put the balance off, but since I do not shoot free recoil, it does not seem to be a problem.
