Glad to have you aboard. Everyone please give a warm welcome to our newest sanctioned club near San Diego, CA

The range is in Jamul, CA, the range master is John Harris. They have 9 benches.

For you guys that have called from Escondino, This range is close to your location.

Thank you for the kind reception.

It looks like we will be up and running in the next couple of months. I am hoping to piggyback the ARA Matches, so for awhile it is going to be learning curve, learning Air Rifle, and learning how to get discounts from the Manager. In that light, let me say that we should continue to promote a climate that encourages the youngsters to participate. I also run the Youth Shooter program at Project2000 and it is blooming at a healthy rate. Young people love to shoot and are actively searching out possibilities to satisfy this natural desire. So, if you have a youngun that wants to shoot, period, send them to me at Project 2000 shooting range (619)442-9971. We take good care of them, feed them a hot dog lunch, and have lots of the guys coming back for up to thier fourth or fifth time. Once they reach 18, they are cut loose on thier own, but by that time they have the skills to hang with anyone!

Folks have told me that there is a significant number of Air Gun shooters in San Diego County. And I believe them. Just don't know how to contact them and bring them into the fold.

Right now, the best contact number would be the Project 2000 Range, which you can reach at (619) 442-9971. If you can't get ahold of anyone there, please call (619) 669-0260 and talk to the old goat hisself, John Harris

As in any sport, there is a difference between being an enthusiast and being a competitor. I know many enthusiasts in the San Diego area and I will let them know about you guys getting going. Be careful about what you wish for though as there are a couple of competitors in the area.

There's a hand full of engineers nearby

John
I'm sending your information to the head of engineering at General Dynamics. In addition to making wonderful Naval ordiance, smart bombs, satilites and other things that go poof in the night, these guy build air rifles in their basement.

You may be surprised what comes out of the woodwork.

I am looking forward to these matches. Currently don't have an air rifle, but I might be able to get my Dad to loan me his springer, just won't have it for about a month or so.

Thanks John for starting this up in our neck of the woods.

Bill
