For a gunny-type, it doesn't get much better than when a new action gets delivered. Well, today was one of those days for me.
Kelbly Atlas non-tactical, R/R, single shot, coned bolt, .068 firing pin, no ejector. Also included was this 20MOA Picatinny rail that's pinned to the action.
Fitted a Shilen Competition trigger and the hand off is just what I wanted. In true Kelbly's fashion, the firing pin travel and ignition look to be spot on. I like the fact that the root of the bolt handle is one piece with the bolt body. I got this one with the optional spacer so the 1.115 Panda/Kodiak tenon head spacing barrels will go right on. I tried a new Kreiger barrel chambered by 'Humble' Henry Rivers and it was dead nuts on. Several other Panda/Kodiak barrels I have were right on the money, as well. I stopped at four.... Another nice feature for a single shot 700 footprint action is a center action screw.
Great product and excellent customer service from everyone at Kelbly's!
I'm bedding and doing some 'corrective' work to a little Interarms Mini Mark X 223 right now so it will be next week before I can get after this project. Can't wait!
Good shootin'. -Al
