I've been a long-time reader on this site and finally decided to join. A little about myself. My dad and I have been into benchrest since the early 1980's but never competed. I hope to change that next year. For the past 20 years a lot of our focus has been on custom revolvers. Recently we took his 6 BR to the range and were again bitten by the precision bug. Some bench time with this 222 we built in '91 hooked me even harder:

Anyways, I look forward to participating on the forum.....there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here.

Welcome Lee, this is a great site, with a lot of guys who compete, build, share info and help new shooters. Bench Rest is a tough game, but very rewarding if you like accurate rifles. Welcome aboard and hope you enjoy Bench Rest, it's a great sport with a lot of good people. Glad to see new shooters

Welcome aboard! Nice looking rifle. You'll get hooked even further when you magnify your sight picture with a commonly used 45X competition scope. :)

Thanks....and that .222 is my little varmint gun, not something I'd use for competition. Homer Culver gave me the old Lyman Target Dot when we built the action so it has sentimental value. The gun looks dated but it shoots really well. As for most of our benchrest rifles, they wear 36X Leupolds or Nightforce BRs.

Welcome Lee, there is a score match at Blackcreek near Richmond this Saturday and a match at Fairfax on the 14th if you are interested.

welcome

It's been a while Lee. I met your dad in Homer's basement shop many years ago. I met you when I worked a Potomac Arms. Larry W.
