There's all kinds of info about barrels. Search for 'Bison', and start reading. Try Google too.

I've never heard of one on a bench gun. They may be great you never know. But if I was considering buying and somebody told me it had a Bison barrel, I would either back out or assume I was buying the action only. Just a personal opinion.

Bison built Bill Myers 2-groove barrels untill they closed. Benchmark is now building them, according to an article I have on Joe "Friedrich's Record-Setting Rimfires".

Google Joe Friedrich and the article that I put in " " should be at the top of the list. Good reading.
But the ans. to your ? March 2007.

I'll give you the benefit of doubt as I would have to go through a lot of stuff. None the less, I don't think Joe or any others are using them at present.

Action

The action, would be more important that the barrel. Bison made good barrels, but you don't know how it was treated.

Borescope..........

Pull a bullet from a case, preferably .22 LR, and take a cleaning rod and push it down the barrel. Then just count the number of grooves on the bullet.

The First 2 Groove barrels that i ordered were from Bison,I still have 2 of them,Benchmark bought bison & continued the 2 groove barrel for me,The bison barrels were high quality,In fact ,the benchmarks are made on the same equipment.I would want to know who put the barrel on rather than what brand. Look through it Bob.The hole in the end is where they hide the rifling. You put the bullets in the other end. If they're too tight, TURN THE FREAKIN THING AROUND. So let me see if I got this right you got a Calfee gun right? I can't be sure because you only mentioned it about 25 FREAKIN TIMES. Now it really does not bother me but can you possibly, please, please, talk about something else, PLEASE?

You forgot to mention to him not to use a slug with teeth marks on it. It might be neccessary.

I think if you use a bore scope or backlight the rifleing you would have no trouble counting the grooves.
