Hi all

I am just getting started with all this. I moved to PA last year and the first thing I did was join the Williamsport club. I was blown away by the wild rigs and how helpful everybody was. One of the guys there named joe really helped me out with getting my gun on target and let m0e shoot his gun. After going there a couple of times I realized that my rest was woefully inadequate for 1000 yards and I need to upgrade. My budget is limited to the 300-400ish area and am looking for advice. There is a gen II sinclair with a windage top for 300 on 6br im also looking at a cast iron bald eagle with the windage top. What should I go with or is there another I should be looking at.

Thanks
Tim

I personally feel the cast iron Bald Eagle is the more stable and trouble-free rest. In my limited experience the Sinclair is more prone to "shooting loose" ..........which is a two-edged sword.

On the one hand your rest loosens up and this is incredibly aggravating, on the other hand you have a perty valid excuse when you fall miserably short of the leader board :)

I Hope by the end of this year to be able to finish second to last lol

I would look at the Hart with the 1 inch stem. I personally don't like any of the windage tops. You can buy it without the big plate and put one on yourself later. Matt

Tim like Matt said get a Hart, you can add the plate later if you need to. I think I'm the Joe that helped you out! If you need any more help, let me know I'll give you my Number.

Thanks guys which one of the harts should I go with The one with the comp 2 or comp 3 top. If they have them in stock they are less than an hour away. Thanks again for your help at williamsport Joe and I am sure I will have a lot more questions.

Listen to Joe, Tim.
Listen to one guy, adopt his style, and stick with it until you figure out exactly what suits you better.

Tim I believe the Comp 2 is the one you're looking for with the single bag. You will be shooting light gun right? Bring your rifle with you. I'm sure Bobby will help you out, thats the best way if you're that close.

Yeah i will be shooting light gun and I may take a stab at F class. I Think I'll stop out there on the 15th with my gun.. When is the first work weekend at Williamsport I would really like to come help out

I would look at Grizzly it moves the windage top adjustment to the rear at the back leg. it would be a lot faster, and you could add the plate latter. I have used about every rest out there and still have and use the Sinclair comp. series, windage and elevation are adjusted without moving your hand, plus it weighs about 35 lbs…….. jim

Jim thats right I forgot about Grizzly rest and I was there last year, thought they were a good looking rest with the windage adjustment right at hand. Wonder if they would fit a Hart?

Doesn't grizzly sell the bald eagle rest? Do they have another?

Tim go look at them both, it's not like you need one tomorrow! Ether one should work, its just what looks good to you and the price you want to spend. So take your time and look them over real good.
