Can't find an answer to this one.
I have a 7mm Bartlein barrel at the gunsmith being chambered for 7mm SAUM. He wants me to send him a dummy round as a template. I'm brand new to benchrest (and reloading.)
I have some Berger 180 VLD Target bullets, but I also want the gun to chamber well with the 180 Hybrid Targets (i.e. unobtaniums) as well. I don't want to run into an issue with having to compress the powder to get the Hybrid off the lands. What I need to know is:
If I chamber the barrel for max. bearing surface using the VLD, will I have too short a jump with the 180 Hybrid? Is the ogive further from the base, closer to the base, or close enough to the same distance?
