Thanks to the Bullet Boys at BERGER they have come up with a new bullet that in my opinion will be the bullet to beat in the future. Eric Steckers new dies for his 115 grain 30 cal. is a great bullet that shoots great.
I used them at the Maryland 200- 300 Championships last weekend. Eric sent me some to try to see if they were worth shooting, I shot two guns and I went 44 shots before finally dropping a point, in some of the worst switchy winds that Thurmont could muster at us at 300 yds. Great Job to the BERGER team.:):):):):)

I second that statement..

I did some testing in my two 30BRs and results were outstanding...they will shoot with the customs especially in my 17 twist rifle...I hope the price is going to be competitive..:D

If they shoot we will make them

I will admit that a recent test of 118 gr FB bullets did not go well so I was not excited about the prospects of the 115 gr working well. For this reason we made only the amount needed to send out to the testers.

We have received enough feedback that the 115 gr FB will become a regular part of our line. It will take us 3-5 weeks to make our first official run but after that these bullets should be available regularly.

Regards,
Eric

More testing to do.

I have only shot 4 groups, but the agg. was in the .1" range. These bullets shoot as good or better than any I've tried. I will rusume testing over the next couple of weeks, and then shoot the Rattlesnake up in Raton with the remainder. Great job Eric. These bullets measure very nice, and I believe have exceeded most of everyones expectations.

Well now that the cats out of the bag. I shot 2 five shot gps yesterday and both of them were ones!! Didn't want to shoot anymore as I also may use the at the Rattlesnake.

If you do make it to the Rattlesnake, make sure you find me, and I will look for you. Hope you do bring a 30.

Michael, a word of caution..................... Mike KICKED butt at Denton with his 30PPC and BIB 112gr.... He's kinda big headed about the 30's now!!!:p:D He might have difficulties getting that head through the barn doors at the Raton barn ..!:p:D...Mike won the Yardage Grand for Score and Group:D...

I too have seen excellent results with the 115gr Bergers and am glad Eric is gonna put'em in production...
Also I got some of Ronnie Cheeks 118 7ogives and they SHOOT...!

I tried something a little bigger..

I have a 30 x 47 with a 15 twist bbl....over the years it has shot mostly 3's and 4's with evryting from Watson to Speedys bullets ....I resurected this hunter bbl and tried the new Bergers with results as good or better than enything ever shot in it before...
I read here how they are shooting in a 30BR ...so I thought why not really ring em out....I have a 300 win. with a 12 twist bbl that is a proven shooter....I found a great load with 4350 that gave 3530 fps with SD of 20...and shooting three 3 shot groups to do a ladder test each of the groups had the bullets touch but one...!!! ....sooo this tells me that there is no problem with the jackets or the cores....any bullet that will take those rpm's and still shoot good will take anything that the ctgs that they are designed to work in will dish out....Roger
