New 6.5x47 lapua

New to precision shooting and want to learn i'm getting a 6.5x47 lapua from tactical rifles in dade city fl. They are doing a tuned rem.700 action, 26" 1-8 twist krieger barrel, badger bottom metal, shilen trigger in a mc millan a-5 stock toped off with a nightforce 5.5x22 nxs np-r2 scope this setup is guarantied to shoot much better then i'm capable of .
 
You will have more luck on 6mmBR.com. A lot of information over there. I built one for a hunting rifle. It is out getting the metal coated and stock painted. I have not shot it. I am building another on A Pierce receiver. I hope they shoot and I bet they will as a hunting cartridge. I'm not convinced that they are the best long range target type cartridge.

Butch : yea I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the 6.5x47 is a Jack of all trades and master of none, The people making it are great with 308,s but I think there knowledge of the 6.5x47 is mostly theoretical. We had a bit of an argument over Werther to go with a 1-8 or 1-9 twist ,my money my twist 1-8 .Anyway it has Ben almost a year that I have Ben waiting and by now I will be happy to just shoot it already.
