I saw the .30 RAR in an article today. It is sort of like a fat .30BR on steroids. It has a rebated case with .473" bolt face and 0.5" brass OD at the base.
In fact I used the .30BR as a basis in QL, renamed it .30RAR, changed the water grain capacity to 44g from the article, the brass length to 1.53" from the Remington WEB page, and COAL to 2.62" per the REM WEB page into QL to do some preliminary modeling of it's performance with a 125g Berger Bullet.
I ended up getting it to the advertised 2,800 fps with no problem. It might be a fun cartridge to play with once some good brass is available.
