Well, the ARA State Match is now Cancelled.
I received an e-mail from Mackie listing my options:
It is scheduled for Saturday, July 26. Fred Leeds called and said you were planning to hold it on Sunday the 27th. If this is true, this is a schedule change and needs to be announced at least 30 days in advance.
I understand that it could have been an honest mistake when looking at the calendar early in the year when you were setting up the schedule. However, our rules don't allow for changing the dates at this late date. Please let me know what you'd like to do.
You can (1) hold the match as scheduled or (2) cancel the event and set it up for another date (possibly the match in August, changing it from a club event to the State Tournament). In addition, you could just cancel the event entirely, but I'd hate to see that for the sake of your competitors and any visitors you may draw.
Since there is an event taking place on Staturday, I cannot hold the event then, so there will be no state match this month.
We will still shoot on Sunday, but it just won't be a sanctioned match.
