nesika bolt

i can get it out no problem but i needto replace it but living in europe i can not find them over here so i needto be sure on the size before order new ones

Oh ok. Call defiance machine or jim borden. They should be able to let you know exact sizes and may even can send you some.

I think Johan wants to know the thread size. He lives a long way over there and it would probably be easier to get some over there.

Well, as a last resort, Johan, you could use a micrometer to find the diameter and buy a screw pitch gauge to narrow things down.
IIRC, sizes 4x40 UNC and 4x40 UNF set screws use a .050" hex wrench, and should be around .112" in diameter..

Oh.
I thought he said: "i can get it out no problem"
I understood that to mean that he could get it out in one piece...
However, it is still posible to measure the minor diameter of the hole with a caliper, or such, and use a ground down screw pitch gauge to determine the thread.
That is if the hole isn't boogered up.
(Minor diameter on a 4x40 is around .085" and .089" for a 4x48.)
I'll bet it is a coarse thread...
Curious to see exactly WHAT the thread size is, though....
