Nesika bolt shroud movement during firing pin strike

I have a question for those familiar with the Nesika Model J.

Recently while dry firing my rifle after cleaning, I noticed that the bolt shroud rotates, just a little, when the firing pin falls. The rear of the pin is contained under the shroud (cannot see the end of the pin), it is the shroud itself that is rotating, just a bit during firing pin fall. I have never noticed this before, not sure if it is normal. I have been shooting this action for about 2 years. Is there a bolt timing issue? The bolt handle does not move, or if it is I cannot see the movement. Could this be causing the occasional unexplained flier. What can I do to prevent the movement, or should I worry about something else, like the price of gas?

Have you tried dry firing with a fired case in the chamber? Does it still do the same thing? If so, you may have a problem.

Howdy Mike,

Give Jim Borden a call. He will know the answer. Sounds like a little drag problem. Found the same thing in one of my Bat's and the gun stopped flipping flyers after I corrected the problem (buildup). I should have my new stock in any day....I'll come down your way with my barrels and we can take a look at it then.

I tried cycling on a fired case with a dead/spent primer, the shroud does not move. I tried it several times with the same result. Maybe it is OK? Something to keep an eye on.
