Need ideas for front rest

I have a flexible carb adjusting tool that I want to attach to the 1/4 inch shaft and fasten at the back of the rest. The socket on the end would weld on to the shaft. What I can't figure out is how I could fasten it at the back close to the sighter cam. It would have to be two piece so that I could slip it over the cable. Any ideas?

get a cable hold down clamp. they come in any size
