Need Help!

I have two front rests that use the Fudd Tops. A Fulgham and a Hart. The problem that I am having is my guns bounce on the hard front bags that Scott supplied with the tops. I have been told that there are modified bags that work with the Fudd Tops.

I really like the Fudd Tops but I am sure I am dropping points with this set up. The game I shoot requires two piece rests.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Bruce

PS Here is my custom top for my Centerfire IBS 600 set-up. No bounce but the gun weighs 17.5 lbs.

In the pic that you posted is that top sitting on a Caldwell BR compitition bottom......I ask this because I just bought a Caldwell BR and its good to know that a better top is available and will fit.

I make all my Protektor type bags out of an old pair of Levis. They take a little time to make but are a lot better than any leather bag I have tried.
For my Fudd style top I like light weight rip stop nylon.
For this I start with a strip about 3” X 6”. Fold it in half length wise and run a stitch down the length. Now turn it inside out & I sew one end shut. Hint when you do this flatten the end with the length wise stitch on the bottom. Now fill the tube with sand. Do Not pack it tight. You want a medium soft oval when you are done.
Now sew the open end shut & you have a great bag that you can attach using a hot glue gun.
For the sides I make my ovals a smaller diameter and a little more firm. I found the best way to attach the small side bags is to drill a couple in the plate where they attach and let the hot glue fill the holes. This helps them to stay attached. Using this setup the bags will conform to the forearm even if it is a little rounded.
Sit down at the bench and run what ever you are shooting back and forth a few times and the bags will conform to your rifle. Since my side bags are medium soft I will adjust the side pressure after I have shot a few rounds.
A little time spent at your (or friends) sewing machine will make a better bag than you can ever buy! ~ ;)

Wish I could sew. My friend's wife made his bags for his Fudd tops. She is a medical doctor so has almost no free time. I have another friend who shoots rimfire and owns two Fudd's. His wife sews very well. Hmmmm! Pictures would be appreciated.

The stem was purchased from Caldwell to allow the custom top be installed. This rest is not for sale.
