I am in need of some advice on getting started in bench rest shooting. Preferably 1000 yard shot. I have a Remington Sendero SF II chambered in 300 RUM. I have a Counter Sniper Crusader Scope 30mm Tube 10-40x 56mm Side Focus Illuminated TDRM Mil-Dot Reticule Scope it has 1/8 moa adjustments. Will it adjust far enough for 1000 yards? I have a descent size reloading setup. Any advice in that area to would help.

Next time you go to the range, while you look thru the scope and hold the rifle rigid, have some turn the elavation knob and visually see how far you can come up. You'll need at least 30 MOA travel to be on the safe side. You may have to install and angled base. A 20 MOA base will take of the problem.

I would try shooting 175 thru 240gr. (prefer. sierra matchkings) bullets...and see if the scope lets you print groups in the area of 13" to 15" high at 50yds....
