I recently came across this rifle it is a Pre A 52 target rifle from 1934-1935.The rifle has a marksman like stock with an aluminum butt plate.has a 14 1/2" Lop.The barrel is a 1.125 straight bull with scope blocks. With this big 28" barrel the gun weighs in at 15lbs.It looks to be well made with a Lyman 52W rear sight and no front sight. The serial # 318xx dates to 1934 according to Winchester records.
The barrel has no markings on it though I haven't removed the stock to see if there are any on the underside of the barrel.I also can't find a stock like this one as it looks very nice. There is no rail but it has a wide target beavertail.
Is there anyone who can help with who might have smithed this rifle maybe Eric Johnson or Womack.
I am sure it has an interesting history behind it.
Thanks,
Gary
