N135 in a powder measure

Does N135 work well in a Harrell's or Jone's powder measure, does it throw consistent charges?
Thanks,

If my memory serves me, 135 throws about 133. 130 is easier. I should add that IMO throwing 133 to +- .1 requires great attention to detail, and consistency in execution with any powder measure, and is generally not accomplished. The answer to your question depends on how you define consistent.

As you probably know, the reason that some short range benchrest shooters have taken to using RCBS Chargemasters at matches is because they believe that using one contributes to the consistency of the weights of their powder charges, and that this contributes to more consistent accuracy. There has also been some discussion about how much easier (than 133) the old T powder, its new replacement (that is awaiting government packaging and labeling approval) and Canadian 2015 (that has been available for several years) are to throw consistent charges with, due to their grain sizes.

I guess that's the difference between a correct answer and a complete answer. :)

I'm going to go off and pout now ;-)...but before I do, let me say that the best short answer is probably "that depends".

I have a Harrell's measure and use 135 for my Hunter load. I use a steady up and down stroke without bumping the handle in either the up stroke or the down stroke. I find this method works best for me. My measure is the first "original" model Harrell made and it's still working great. I called Mr. Harrell up when I first heard about his measure. He stated his famous phrase, "I'll send you one. If you like it send a check, if you don't send it back." He has the check and I still have the measure...

Exactly like me. As long as you use 1/3rd of the bottle. Mine, anyway, changes weight thrown depending on how full the bottle is. Dunno about the newer ones.

And the "no bump" on the handle works fine, as long as you're not using much of a drop tube. When I went to a 6-inch tube and a slow delivery, I had to bump the handle to make sure everything cleared.

All reasons why Boyd's answer was the better, if not as succinct.
