N133

If you ask the top 10 shooters which lot of powder is the best, you will probably get 10 different answers. Not trying to be sarcastic either.
I sold someone a couple jugs of '07 2 years ago because I could not get a handle on it. He has been kicking our butts with it.

I there a lot # better than others . Like 2008 , 2010, 2014 , or so on .
Just curious on your input.

Well lets see.....It all works,1994,1999,2000,2004,2008,2009,2014,2015, to name a few. Now, bullets and barrels are a different story.

My friend who got me into score shooting bought an 8lb jug of N133 lot # 29.1.2015. He shoots a 6PPC instead of the usual 30BR. He couldn't get enough of that lot into his case to make it work. He sold the rest to me and it consistently pushed the bullets that I use in my Jaguar 2, (modified 30x47) faster than almost any lot of N133 that I own which is about 150 pounds and I have about 10 different lots. That lot was slow in that dinky 6PPC case and was right at home in my Jag.

Makes one wonder

why some don't try N130 in the PPC?

We tried it at the Super Shoot when it first hit the market....didn't work as well as the 133 at that point so it sorta got blackballed right there. That's the only thing I know about it. Wait, I do know something else...I know how to get the lid back on such that it looks like it's never been opened.

Because it's not the optimum powder in that case Greg. Just like when u use 4198 in your 30x47. Not the optimum powder. I talked to Randy Robinette about changing to N135 from the 133 for mine because I told him I was shooting 112's and wanted to shoot some of his 125's. I asked him should I use the 135 since it is slower and I'm going up in bullet weight, he said stick with the 133. He said that 133 and H322 are probably the 2 best powders for the 30x47. If u look at old match reports from the Iowa-Michigan area when they had a sht load of people shooting 6 power, mostly anyone who shot a 30x47 was using 135.

Why?.....For me, back in 1999 when I started shooting BR,(6PPC) all the big name shooters were shooting N-133.

I tried N130,1995 lot-477, Couldn't get it to shoot like my 1994 lot 367 N-133.

So being new and impatient, back then, I still have an unopened jug of 1995, N130-lot-477.

For all I know, it may work in a 6PPC. I just haven't had the motivation to go back and give it a try.
