I wait 3 months and last week my new 22 rimfire 4 groove tight bore "fat barrel" arrives. Tomorrow my new piloted reamer should ship.
This evening i unwrap and try slugging my new barrel. I don't know exactly how it should feel but i gotta learn. Anyway i push the slug thru and count the groves, no reason but looked more than 4 grooves. Well my new 4 grove has 6 grooves!!
The end of the bbl is stamped 22 16 T 4G. It is written on the side in black market tight 4 GR. I'll call tomorrow and see if there is any kind of "adjustment". Really no big hurry other than it's been 3 months -i'm about to get out of the "mood", lol. I'm guessing at least a month at best to sort this out.
Finally the question, does the 4 groove generally shoot a little better than the 6 groove? Other than if i keep the 6 groove in my mind i'm going to think the 4 groove would have been that magic "hummer"!
Should i send it back? thanks joe
