Just had a liverwrust sammitch, with brown mustard and red onion.....but, on wheat bread......got to watch the fat........I'm old....it was killer.....had some lemonaid and some of Mark Meadows killer chow-chow.....man!

Man, the first PSL match is here........I'm excited......man!

Them folks ain't about to let them Calfee SPEC rifles dominate again.....

Ain't this rimfire benchrest shooting awesome! Man!

Oh, I made some cornbread earlier.....the kind from Martha White, where you just add water......I put some grease in a pan, on top of the stove, and pored the batter in and made some cornbread pancakes.......I got some "real" maple syrup..........when I get done typing here, I'm going to put some of that syrup, on them cornbread pancakes, with some butter, and a cup of coffee, for desert....man!

Man, ain't it awesome to be a part of rimfire benchrest in America!

Chow Chow is another word for relish. It's like potato salad, people try to out do each other when making their own recipe. Great pride is taken making killer Chow Chow. I like it with home made beans and ham.
Mark Meadows is the maker of his own Chow Chow.

Bill,
Pushing buttons on the computer is easy isn't it? When was the last time you, I mean you personally competed in an ARA match? I haven't got my newest ARA News yet because I live a bit north of you (in the same state) and am not as important as you. But I ask when was the last time YOU competed in ARA at a match and WHEN will you compete again? This BS of being a smith and wanting your guns to compete is getting boring. When a smith can shoot consistent 2350 targets without flags at Wood Township in the best of conditions and say that shooting indoors is the toughest thing to do then I want proof from the FROGS MOUTH! You are tiring me man. Let's see YOU participate in a PSL match this year. Shoot anything....Duke of Earl...Georgia Shaker...Gingersnap...Spec1 thru Spec whatever. Shoot your best gun and share a bench if you have to. If you can shoot those targets without windflags at Wood Township then you can shoot in the barns. Let's see it buddy! Otherwise you're just a frog not a horse.

OH SURE, Kirk has a great rifle smithed by the GREAT one he really thinks a lot about it, just you ask him about it when you have some time, he will be glad to tell all about it, and his openion of the Great One, SOLJ.:D:D

Fried corn meal mush, rules. Make a pan, let set in the refer over night and cut and fry up the next day. Can't be beat, even with a stick.

A little trick for a real taste treat is to smear the tops with some of that potted canned ham, let er get warm in the skillet, and go for it.:)

Friend Big Al:

Read your post, man, took off to the grocery and got some potted ham....

I've got some of that Marth White cornbread left.....I think I'll heat it up and put some of that potted ham on top......man, sounds killer....

Heard there's 106 at the barn......man.....going to be a killer match!

Man, what a wonderful time to be in Rimfire Benhcrest......I've heard from so many folks today that are shooting this first PSL.....

Man, a bunch of them shooters are serious about keeping a Calfee gun from winning, "again".....I can't say as I blame them......

Big Al,....let you know shortly about the potted ham on my Martha White cornbread......

Ain't this rimfire benchrest stuff simply awesome my friends, Man!

Mr Calfee,

You can be highly aggrivating, overly opiniated, more than a tad self serving & not all that cooperative, but I take my hat off to you.

That was definitely a 100 yard Superbowl touchdown!

I spent the last semester making french toast every morning with budget whole wheat bread and it just wasn't the same.

I just started making my pancakes right after I fry up some bacon and in all seriousness, nothing beats pancakes fried up with a little bacon grease and some crispness around the edges.

I'll have to try cornbread sometime.

I'd also like to hear how the match went today :)

What a week-end

What a week-end:

Had some cornbread pancakes with that killer maple syrup for breakfast....got the dishes washed, put a load of laundry in the machine and got ready for the big PSL match........

Along in the early afternoon I got a call from "Big Dog's" wife, Mary who informed me that "Black Death" had won the first target......Man, I got a sneaking suspicion right then it was going to be an awesome day....

Mary said Big Dog was doing pretty good, T-Stud good to, along with Carolina Gold, also good......she didn't know the scores....

I fixed me some soda crackers with some of that canned Ham, with a thin slice of red onion and a little brown mustard for dinner.......man.....

Big dog's wife kept me informed throughout the late afternoon on who was doing what....a killer match.......some killer scores by a bunch of folks...

For supper I had a, yes, liverwrust sammich with Miracle Whip and lettice and opened a can of peas, heated them up and put a little sour cream on top, man........

The match was so big it took 15 hours to complete.....along about 10:00PM I laid down on the bed and fell alseep.....I was wore out from eating......

Sometime about, oh, 12:30AM or so the phone rang......

I reached over, picked up the phone and heard nothing.....then all of a sudden, I heard Big Dog's wife singing:

Duke-Duke-Duke, Duke of Earl, Duke-Duke, Duke of Earl, Duke-Duke, Duke of Earl...............

Thank you Mary......what a day...

What an awesome match....Great shooting by all...can't wait till PSL Number 2...

My friends:

I kinda thought this thread was dead......after the first, awesome PSL match.........

But, some several days ago I got a bunch of Eley test lots in.....the weather has been so bad, snow, 0 temps, no electricity, that I could not test these new lots.........

I checked the Eley inventory and most all the lots I have are gone....

Anyway, I went to the range this evening and shot these test lots, even though they are gone.............I shot SPEC 52 in the tests...

Who got Red, 04404, at 1061 velocity? Man!

Who got 03509, Red at 1064 Velocity? Man!

Who got 01339, Red at 1062 velocity? Man!

Man, the Duke was shooting 4237 Red......all three of these lots double blinded as good, or better, than what the Duke shot...man!

Somebody got some big time ammo.....?

And then what about 05378 black and 03461 Black...man!

And then 1300 Black and that killer 5447 Red, Man!

Man, there was some killer ammo in this last shipment from Eley....

Folks, it's a hassle trying to get the best bullets......but you got to have them to win.....it's part of our game, I guess?

SPEC 52 is about ready for me to put him in the hands of a big time shooter....to see if we can put a 52 Winchester in the winners circle again, at a "BIG Time" match, not some local affair.......

I'm an old man....and wore out......but, before I turn my machine off, for tonight................Man, was there some killer ammo this last shipment from Eley.....winter is a bad time to test....

My friend Bob Collins told me Eley is shipping some new stuff.....

I hope it is good..........

Your friend, Bill Calfee.........
