My dear friends:

My answering machine has been flooded with request for Calfee "Spec" rifles.

I'm sorry, but at my age, and health, I simply can not return all of your folks calls....I'm sorry....

I'm back logged for SPEC rifles.......I am going to do my best to fill those contracts.....

I would give anything if I could help all you awesome folks......I apologize, I simply can't, as things stand.....I'm sorry...

Thank you my wonderful friends...

Your friend, Bill Calfee

I believe it was back in the 1960s that a man named Bob Jonenk (sp?) was a very successful small block Chevrolet speed mechanic. His heads were wanted by most racers of the time. He could not possibly fill the orders. He wanted to help all he could but wanted to give each customer his "personal touch".
He settled on setting up an assembly line of sorts whereby the majority of grinding, smoothing, layout, checking, etc was done. He taught each person on the line one job, and had them learn it very well. Before the final assembly, he could check all the things which he needed to have them right. He could do the little magic things which made them his. A test run, after assembly, assured they were right before heading for the customer. He didn't work as hard or as long, he made more money, everyone got a set of "Joneck Heads", and lived happily ever after.
