Hi All
I have been working on my newest Dawson for a few weeks now .( Tod's also ) I have been using a standered Benchmark RF 3 grove tight boor .900 OD. I have had 3 different regulators , 2 bottles , 2 valves , and countless combinations of springs . I have also had a few different air stripper - tuner combos . I have been shooting manly JSB ( or AA ) 18.1 gr . 22 pellets . All combinations have worked well . The regulators and valves wood be better suited to a 20 ft/lb rifle but with the .900 Benchmark and my Babingga ( bad spelling ) stock I am over the 15 lb. limit . I am pushing the Reg. and valve to there extreme . Where I am at now is the Dawson receiver, trigger , and most internal parts . Dan Brown Reg. with paint ball bottle , Benchnark 3 grove and my 3 generation tuner - stripper . The benefit of working with high quietly parts and doing precession work was apparent to me when this AM . I deiced to remove my barrel for a good cleaning . After removing the scope with rings , and the barrel , I cleaned the barrel and put it all back together . The rifle went back to the same point of impact , with no scope adjustments required . 2 - 10 shoot strings AV. 925 fps., ES 6.40 ,SD 2.00 , 34 ft.lb. all 20 shots in well under ( out side to out side ) 1/4 in hole at 27 yd. out side . I am getting close , but those that know me know I well never be 100% satisfied . This is why I love air rifle bench rest -- THE ENDLESS PURSUIT OF PERFECTION .
