Muzzle Flush System Filters

I searched for a while but came up empty. I switched over to a dark sulpher based threading / cutting oil for my muzzle flush system and the pressure is almost non-existent. The oil comes out but no felt pressure, just a small stream. I opened the filter housing and it looks like it has very small air bubbles, the oil is much lighter in color in the filter but no leaks anywhere. I know some thin their Mobil Met Omega mix with ATF 70/30. I suspect the filter is holding me back and was just curious as to what some of you may be using.

The filter system I have now is a whole house water filtration system.

Sounds from your description that your filter/viscosity combo is holding back flow. Try warming your oil or, use a remote filter system. Does your pump push enough oil to meet need without the filter? If so, then run your oil after use into a filter remote from the system.
We catch basin flow and use a 2 micron filter in a simple bucket with the filter on top. It reguires a revolving two tank full quantity, but it works. Our filter takes about 90 minutes to sift out a half gallon.

Thanks Alan,

I added 3 quarts of ATF to one gallon of Sulpher Based Threading oil. Running freely through 3/8" ID lines it has 30Lbs of pressure ahead of the filter. Flow at the muzzle connection point is much better with the ATF added. I can put my thumb over the end that connects to the muzzle and make it spray kinda like a water hose. I'll probably change the current filtering system out to an external Hydrolic Filtering System in the near future. That would be better since I'm running oil.

GPM is still a little lower than you'd think but it's better.

If it's of any concern, I use a pump from an oil burner. Free flow is about 2.5 gallons per minute through a30 cal hole.

System One racing oil filters flow well and get the big stuff out of suspension. They work even better if you strap a few magnets to the outer housing.

10 Micron rating.

Screens are washable/reusable.
