i removed the brakes from the end of the barrels on my 223 and 270..and the crowns are good, and will it effect the accuracy of the rifle if i leave them off,and just have the threaded part of the barrel still exposed,,it looks bad,but will it effect the accuracy?

We do this all the time, over here we are allowed silencers / sound moderators on our rifles, these are threaded similar to brakes.

In some instances they have to be removed, the point of aim is higher than with the can in place.

We make a short thread collar the same profile as the barrel to protect the threads from damage.

It could effect your accuracy. You might need to re-tune the rifle without the brake. Any time you add or take away weight on the barrel, especially at the muzzle it could effect accuracy because it changes the harmonics of the barrel.

If tuners work

and tuners do work, the only arguement is why and who cares.

Therefore adding or removing a brake should cause some type of change, most likely point of impact. If you are lucky that will be the only change; however accuracy could be affected for the tuned load with the brake on, etc, etc, etc.

Yes the only way to test it is at the range:)=
