Moving a .22 Rim Fire out to 200 Yards

Will a change to 25 MOA rings do to make the transition? I would rather have a second scope ready to just mount to switch over from 50 yard shooting then to have to change bases.

Tnx - Bob

Per the "Small Bore Rifle Handbook" by Townsend Whelen for a .22 LR, 40 gr at 1100 FPS (standard velocity per Whelen) the elevation come-ups are:

50 to 100 yards = + 8 MOA
100 to 200 yards = + 17.9 MOA

So from 50 to 200 you need + 25.9 MOA

Easy to generate empirical data. Make a tall narrow target. Fire on it at 100 yards. Keep adding elevation until the POI is 18 inches above point of aim.

The + 18 inch/MOA come-up from 100 to 200 yd will put you very close to center at 200 yd with standard velocity ammo.

Thanks. Sounds like with the internal scope adjustment along with the rings, this should work fine.
