Mount/Ring Height Trouble

I have a 6mm AI with a Douglas target contour barrel and I am also having built a 26 Nosler with a Krieger light varmint contour barrel. I have two Minox scopes that are 56mm objective and had planned to use them on both rifles, but the scope I tried on the 6mm AI won't clear the slimmer Douglas barrel. (using Leupold 2 pc. std mounts and 30mm super high rings) I sent Leupold this same question, but they haven't replied yet. Has anybody ran into a similar problem, and if so, did you solve it without spending an arm and a leg? Any info would be appreciated.

Davidson bases and Kelbly rings.

You could also have the bases machined with a little "look down" maybe 20 MOA.

I think you are as high as you can get with Leupold std hardware. Risers would probably be the cheapest option, if you already have Weaver or Picatinny bases and rings you can swap in: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_aqtp8kdfn_b

That is an interesting option, I never knew they made Weaver type risers so inexpensively. However he says he is using Leupold rings which do not use that type base, they use a propietary base. Still just discard the complete Leupold setup, buy weaver bases (inexpensive), Burris Zee Rings which are very reasonably tall and fairly inexpensive, and if necessary the Risers you refer too.

Thanks

Thanks so much for helping me out. Everybody have a merry christmas.
