Among old time shooters who also cast bullets, the method we used to anneal case necks was to fire up the melt pot, then holding a piece of brass by its base, dip tho case neck in the molten lead. When we feel the case base warming up, this means the neck is hot, drop the case in a container of water.
This works great. Used this a lot on 22BR for P- dog brass and such. Would I use this for match cases? Match cases are a very valuable component of the Benchrest accuracy equation..
