We'll be shooting RBA 3 gun at 9:00 a.m. and IR 3 gun at 1:00 p.m. Haven't seen too many gnats so far, but the wind has been too tough on them!! Tommy Cravey brought Bar-B-Que last match.........haven't decided what we'll have this time.

Bob Pekaar

Remember we're shooting Saturday.....and you could draw bench 12.......and you know what you might be able to do again????? The Honey Hole is waiting:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Phil...

...:confused:How did we get three different ranges scheduled on the same date? Montezuma, CAGC, Black Belt? Attendance likely to be lousy at all three.

Your right Hoke.....I don't know how that happened either.....let's hope it's a lesson learned. I know you will be in Montgomery.........boy, these cops are getting too much time off!!!

This scheduling thing is hurting everyone....I wish someone knew how to make some improvements. In addition to those shoots Gold City is shooting too, so we will loose them and they will loose us!!

It get worse...

:( Now the sporter nationals weekend has been re-scheduled to conflict with both CAGC and Magic City.

I'm use to the old schedule when we use to shoot

First Satof the Month at Gene's
2nd Sat of the Month at Blackbelt
3rd Sat of month at Central AL
3rd Sun of Month at Magic City

I miss shooting with you guys

Looks like with gas prices and ammo.....not counting all the different games it's hard to make everyone happy. We are looking at starting a few more ranges in this area to shoot each weekend. Looks like the only time we might see each other is at state or regional events. We use to see 14 to 18 shooters at each event, now if we get 6 or 8 we feel lucky. We have shooters that won't shoot ARA, because they have sporters and enjoy shooting them.....in fact I would like to shoot ONLY sporter........ it separates the men from the boys...in MHO. Then we have people that will only shoot heavy guns......any ideas to help the situation would be helpful. I know Mickie worked hard at setting-up a schedule, but if you have two large events on the same weekend that split the shooters, you don't make enough money to pay for plaques. That's why the sporter nationals were moved. It seems to me that we had more shooters when we just had 3 gun and ARA.

I'm sorry Phil,

That just doesn't wash. The CAGC and Magic City schedules were posted way in advance of the choosing same dates for Sporter Nationals. Ditto the matches scheduled for day after tomorrow. If this kind of discourtesy (yes, that is what it is) is gonna continue then there is no rhyme nor reason for Mickey to try to coordinate scheduling. And, maybe some of the clubs busting their butts to continue some form of rimfire benchrest programs just best give it up. Do I feel strongly about this, you damned right I do.

Hoke,
Just like Ron said three weekends of the month are in Alabama, that only leaves 1 and 2 at the most to schedule three ranges here and then state, regional and 1 national match here in Georgia. CAGC and Gene's are 2 of my favorite ranges.

Aw come on, Phil...

you have not been to a match at either of your "favorite ranges" this year, have you? And, really, that is beside the point. Scheduling in direct conflict with no regard for the problems of those with whom there is a conflict, has nothing do to do with your personal "favorite ranges". And, you know it. When we should be trying to build a competition base against all kinds of odds, ammo costs and gasoline, this kinda thing contradicts the effort. Reckon I've sed enuff. I'm still big time pissed about it. Maybe we can discuss some day in a different environment. Bye.

Hoke,
Let's plan on discussing it at Leonard's next match. I'll bring the RBA and IR schedule and we'll review some of the problems.

If it's an help

My intentions for next year are the same as the last three years.

We will be shooting the 2nd Saturday of every month, From March to Nov.

The Nov match is a centerfire, hunting rifle match otherwise Rimfire/Airgun.

Steve,
Take those hip boots off they're only waders!!!!!!:D:D:D

Not sure I understand, Fiddler...

Conflicts resulted in just four of us at CAGC - lowest turnout in history, I believe. Looks like Gold City had just five or six. Don't know how many showed up at Montezuma and Demopolis but I'll bet you there were not many.

Hoke,
We had 4 in Montezuma, and 1 was a new shooter!! This was our lowest turnout that I ever remember.

Gold city responce

I'm not mad about the scheduling because I would be mad all the time. We have had about a dozen matches since we opened here. We only had one last year with visiters and none this year. Ours and Lenords schedules were posted first this year and we only scheduled one Sat.combo per month around everone else in Georgia so anyone else could come visit . If everyone else is going to stay home and shoot I guess we will to.:(

Shame

We try to coordinate with all the clubs in the area before we set our schedule. The problem arises, when some don't want to change their date to accommodate the other area clubs that have shooters that are willing to travel and support their friends. We also try to work with the local clubs of different disciplines for the same reason. Looks like a lot of clubs will suffer from low attendance and possibly fold due to lack of support.
