I have read alot on the subject of midbarrel tuners and have one to try , I was wondering if anyone has altered a stock so the mid barrel tuner can be tried starting at the action ? if so what were the results?

There was an article in one of the more recent Precision Shooting magazines where the writer tested the effects of a mid barrel tuner on two different rifles, but as far as I know I have never heard of anyone modifying the stock to see how it would work closer to the action. I have a feeling that there is a good chance it might not have quite the effect close to the action, but thats just me and there is no telling really unless someone tries.

You're kidding, right?

No actually i am not , When you have a question there are two ways to find the awnser . One is ask around to see if someone else has tried it and the other is to try it yourself . It appears you must already know what the results would be , Would you care to enlighten those of who dont know ? i would be interested to know who has tried it ?

I tried it right out of high school 40 years ago all it did for me was give me the munchies! Jack C

Something is wrong here. Pops asks a question, and his first response from Sidewinder is taken as a smart-ass response. Frankly, that's the same way I took Sidewinder's response too. There's also a post several days ago about promoting the sport. How about promoting the forum with constructive responses, rather than one that comes across as belittling? Perhaps, Sidewinder, that's not how you meant your response to come across, but that's how some have taken it.

A lot of people come on these forums to "rattle your chain". I didn't take the question seriously, and I'm not going to butcher a stock to find out. I agree with the previous post that harmonics are much more critical toward the muzzle. I have been testing with some of Charlie Scott's mid barrel dampeners, and so far am really impressed. My 40X unlimited gun likes it 4 3/4" from the fore end, and one of my CZ Americans like it flush with the muzzle. Sorry if I offended any one.
