After only a tiny hint, my son (who plays bass guitar & drums in a couple of bands) bought me a great Pearl drummers throne for Christmas. It has solid, heavy legs with a lockup on the extension adjustment, a threaded elevation shaft with both knurled nut & thumb turn lockup and a firm but comfortable seat. The whole rig is as steady as a rock.
Go and left out the secret!!
musicians benches are sturdy and relatively inexpensive bench seats. they are made to stand up to 300lb rockin drummers, heck yea they have to be solid and adjustable.
actually i started with one of those wooden swivel seats with the eagle claw feet with glass balls on the end. well when my wife say how i was treating that antique, she confinscated it and got a drummers throne for me too. chuckling!!! Fred
