Memorial Match in Michigan

On Sunday, August 10th our club here at Sault Ste. Marie will be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Mavis Haller Memorial Match. We will use Rimfire Central Rules and the USBR target. Rifle classes are a little different than used by USBR. The match is not sanctioned by USBR.

Thanks to some generous sponsors, there will be $2000.00 worth of shooting related prizes given out at the match. Winners receive bragging rights, but no plaques or trophies. Everyone who attends this match is a winner. The loosers are the ones who cannot ever be talked into shooting in a match.

With a little luck: A CZ Rifle, a case of SK ammo, a Wind Probe, some Carbon River wind flags, an $85.00 set of gunsmiths screwdrives, or a bunch of other shooting "stuff" could compensate you for the cost of your gas.

Chuck Millhouse, Susan Hughes and Marylin Kester are planning the noon meal and have asked me to get a rough count of the number of shooters I expect to be there. If you would like to attend this match, would you please post a reply at the bottom of this thread.

Thanks:

Joe Haller :)

Joe, have been thinking about this all year and want to attend, but the real estate market crisis has me scratching to make ends meet. When they aint sellin' any houses, they don't need anybody to appraise them, so it's slim pickins' round here. My heart will be there, but just don't have the funds to transport the rest up there. Hope it turns out awesome and good luck to all who compete. GG

Count me in

Joe: My wife and I are planning on attending - 1 shooter, 2 eaters!!! I'm bringing 10 lbs of Chappell Hill sausage from Texas, so please make room on the grill....I promise only one or two links will be jalapeno!!! :D

Shooters willing to travel many miles . . .

Jess: It is good to learn you will be driving up from Wisconsin again, for our club's special match this year. I read someplace where Butch Hongisto helped you get ready.

Gordon: Sorry you are not able to make it, but with the real estate situation the way it is, I understand the reason. I REALLY would have liked to get a picture of you shooting on our range.

Harry: Thank you for the offer of Texas Sausage. Did you know that we have a special 2 Person Match at 25 yards? One Man & One Lady. Do you think you could get your wife to shoot the 25 yard match with you? Texas is a long way from Michigan. You are visiting relatives down in the lower part of the State, right?

Joe :)

Memorial match

Correct Joe - we are visiting relatives in the thumb for a couple of weeks. We leave Houston this Saturday for the 1,400 mile drive. We're going to shoot with Dick Wright in Harrison on Saturday (Aug. 9th) and drive to the UP for the Memorial Shoot on Sunday (Aug. 10th). Please order some mild weather for us - it was over 100 degrees with 85% humidity yesterday in Houston.

The 25 yd. team competition sounds like fun, so count us in. My wife wanted to know if she has to actually "hit" the target...geez!!!
