McMillan F-Class stock

I have read that this stock is a bit too flexible. Does anyone here have one and shoot F-Class with it and what has been your experience with it?

Thanks,
George

George,

Mid Tompkins used one to win the F-Class World Championships in 2005. I used one this year to win the 600 yard gold in the FCN in Sacramento. If anything they are too stiff and you can sometimes get a vibration (twanging) in the rifle after the bullet is gone.

I have several going into new rifles for customers. Most have been very pleased.

Larry, I call what you described as the diving board effect.

These stocks are somewhat brittle. I have heard of some breakage at the pistol grip.

I get Weatherby fill in the action area of these stocks. This was suggested to me by Bobby Hart.

very interesting. i have had a couple and my only complaint would be that they are uncomfortable to shoot from the bench. of course they are not made for that but it is nice to be able to when the ground is to wet to shoot from. if i do another belly rifle i think the mbr will be the way i go. i sure wish we had f class in this area as i know i would like it. st louis shoots some during the week but i have kids to feed and cloth. lee

So what stock is the most used in the f-class crowd? Is there any one stock design that dominates? When i first started this hole rifle craziness i shot prone every time i went to the range. I really enjoyed do so, and i got pretty sufficient doing so. I would really like to give this f-class thing a real try, but we just dont have anything offered in this area, except for week day shoots in st Louis. Does anyone here shoot in those week day shoots in st louis? What kind of turn out do they normally have? The hole reason i ask, is that i have an action here at the house not doing much, and my mind never stops, so maybe i should throw a belly gun together??? Hmm!! Thanks Lee
