This will come as a surprise, but once again we had a crazy switch wind that played havoc with the shooters. The weather was nice otherwise and we put up 4 ez-ups and everyone had good shade. The manager at P2k took down the shade cloth that I paid $700 for a few years ago, and has now decided to let us blister.

Larry Durham made the trek down from Temecula, but had equipment issues so I lent him my gun/rest and ended up just keeping score.

Scores as follows from top down for 4 cards;

Roger Lovett - 957 - 16X MAC1 USFT HW Crossman Premiers .177

Richard Woods - 948 - 10X Hammerli 850 Factory JSB Hvy .177

Larry Durham - 939 - 6X Mac1 Hunter HW JSB Hvy .177

Howard Pray - 934 - 7X Air Arms 100 LW Crossman .177

These scores may not sound like much with everybody and their sister shooting 250's, but you just have to experience the P2k wind to understand.

These are not "newbies" in this match, and all are battle hardened vets in the Airgun world, some with World Records and all with many wins in various Airgun diciplines.

Luckily for those who have not shot here, this appears to be the last match. I can no longer make up the difference between shooters fees and the rent that they charge me. It's kind of ironic, as my late friend Mike Desaire and I built this range, put in at least $1500 of our own money, and I fund raised an equal amount. Mike and I put in long hours building state of the art concrete benches, backer system, and all the other little items that come up and someone has to deal with. We became Match Directors for the Email matches, RBA, ARA, and now AGBR.

Mike had more "juice" than I do for the sport, and with his passing it has appeared that it has just been a death spiral over the past few years that he has been gone. I miss him a lot.

But this last turn out of only 4 shooters has confirmed that there is not enough interest to keep going.

So, that is it folks. There will be no more Airgun Matches at P2k Range.

Adios, John Harris
