It was great weather for a match at the Rock today at least until match 5, then the conditions picked up a little. It was cool and overcast for most of the match with very calm conditions,so calm on the right end of the range people were having shots just kind of drift around for no apparent reason, morning boogers as Wilber calls them. We had a decent turnout with 17 shooters, 11 VFS, 4 Cus and 2 factory guns. In VFS Cuz'n Roy didn't shoot today to give the rest of us a chance and we appreciated it. I won VFS w 250-22x, Phil Lewis was 2nd w 250-21x and Ken Eades was 3rd w 250-20x. Phil got underneath me on next to the last lap and got me loose and into the wall to put me, Phil and Ken tied going into the last match, on the start Ken went to the outside with Phil in the middle and me in the bottom grove so when I put a fender on Phil he put Ken in the wall and by the time he had gathered his back up I had cleared him for the lead and was able to hold him off for the win. I learned this from watching Cuz'n Roy do it so many times before. Brandon Mays won custom class with a 249-9x score, James Davis was 2nd w 249-7x and Eric Lawson was 3rd with 244-7x, Eric shot very well except for falling off the bench in match 2 and dropping 4 points in the fall. In factory class Kevin Ross won with a 242-6x score and Bill Glaze was 2nd w 235-3x. I think everyone had a good time and Thanks to all that helped with the match, we really appreciate having a place to shoot. See ya'll next month at 200.
