match at the Rock today

It was a good day for the match today weather was nice, the rain held off till the match was through. It rained lightly while everyone gathered flags then rain hard for a couple minutes while everyone was sort out there stuff then it quit so you could load up.We had a good turnout with 17 VFS and 5 factory guns. Cuz'n Roy Darnell won again with a 250-20x score, Dale Avery was 2nd w-250-20x also and Bob Yerkes was 3rd w 250-19x( ppc). The factory class was won by Heath Packer again w a 249-9x score and Elwood Richardson was 2nd w-243-6x and 3rd was Eric Lawson w 233-4x, Good scores for the factory guns. Heath and Elwood are shooting them hot Savages and Eric was shooting a Ruger 77 in just his 2nd match, he's coming along nicely. The conditions were pretty good overall but they were switchy and twitchy and it was easy to miss an x or point if you got caught. Congrats to the winners and thanks to all who came and the ones who put on the match. Good shooting, Steve

I had a good time as always. Daddy in law did too. We look forward to the next shoot. I met some new guys and they were just as nice as could be. I learn a little something different every time. Thanks to all who are involved with having the matches.

The "ROCK", Score shoot, Question, & comments...

As Steve said, nice day, nice turnout, & good company.. seventeen VFS shooters ,fifteen 250`s !? Is it too easy, now? I need you guys feedback, thoughts and/or ideas...Would you have any interest in a more challenging target if we could come up with something say, half the size?? Status quo?? You tell us! Now, I want to thank some people...Roy D. and Phil L. for the computer work, Steve S. for scoring, Earl O.(with Ken Eades` 4-wheeler) chasing targets, Paul S. also. No end to people , hands on "grunt work" after the match was over. Really appreciated, good people... O.K., come on back and shoot a 200 yd. score match @ the "ROCK" on JUNE 26th (swap meet also) Reg. I.B.S. target. Be lookin` for you ..... Regards, Bob Y.

Count me in for any thing. As long as I am burning powder I am happy. I kinda wish the matches were more often but we are 3 1/2 hours away.
