We had a pretty good turnout with 23 shooters, 16 VFS, 2 fac and 5 modified. The wind was blowing pretty hard and in multiple directions with gusts and hard switches. It beat most of us up pretty good but Gary Barefoot put up a stellar 250-10x score to win VFS, Jim Cothern was 2nd w 249-5x and Chip Graham was 3rd w 248-6x. Jake Smith won modified with a great 250-5x, Kevin Lasley was 2nd w 245-5x and Kelly Hendrix was 3rd w 243-0x. Carey Graham won fac w 241-1x, willie Brown ws 2nd w 239-2x. I don't know what Gary and Jake saw that the rest of us didn't, but they did a great job in tough conditions.The championships for the year were decided today also and the winners were VFS, Derrick Loflin w 1497-89x was 1st, Jim Cothern was 2nd w 1497-80x and Joe Allen was 3rd wit 1497-72x. The top 6 were separated by 1 point for the year. Jake Smith won the modified championship on the strength of the great score he shot today w 1496-60x, Kelly Hendrix was 2nd w 1490-58x and Kevin Lasley was 3rd w 1488-65x. Carey Graham won the factory championship w 1478-52x and Jessica Lasley was 2nd w 1466-37x. Congrats to all the winners on some great shooting over the year. Thanks to all that came to shoot and to all that help run the match. A special thanks to Gary Hendrix for stepping up and taking the lead on the matches after the tragic loss of Phillip Curtis to cancer. Phillip left a big void and Gary did a great job of picking up the leadership role. Thanks to everyone that helped with the matches, it is greatly appreciated by all.
