We had a light turnout for the first match today, 12 shooters I believe 10 VFS and 2 Custom. The weather was pretty cool to start with but warmed up nicely about match 4. The conditions were light and about as good as I've ever seen at the Rock. Dale Avery won VFS w 250-23x, Phil Lewis was 2nd w 250-22x and I was 3rd w 250-22x . Butch Mays won custom w 248-?. I didn't get a copy of the results so I don't know the x count for custom. The reticule scoring for the sub 30 calibers raised their score some but the top 3 in VFS were shooting 30 BR's today. Using the reticule on the sub 30 calibers definetly made them more competitive and it was a lot easier to score than I anticipated. I guess everyone that follows the matches at the Rock are wondering what happened to Cuz'n Roy, well he started out strong as usual but he had equipment failure on match 3 and the wheels came off from there but I'm sure he will have her fixed by next time and come out smoking again next month. We had a great time as usual. Congrats to all that shot well and thanks to the people who make the matches happen, we appreciate it. See ya next month for the 200 yd match.
