We had 17 shooters at our match today.
Weatherman said it was gon'a rain. It didn''t.
Said it was gona be in the high 50's. It got up to 72 degrees.
Kinda windy thought. Gust to about 20 MPH.
One hour after we finished the match we had dime size hail and 60 MPH winds.
We shoot the USBR target with our own "Outlaw" rifle class rules. 25 and 50 yard matches, using 5 different rifle classes. Works for us.
Last match of our "Season" will be on Sunday, October 3rd. Then we start our Ballistic Sling Snowball League. U.P. here.

Here are the scores for our 14 shooters in the 25 yard Ulimited Class . . .

We started an Iron Sight BR Match over on RFC a couple of years ago. 50 yards on the NRA A-23 50 yard target. This match is getting a lot of attention in the RFC On-Line Matches This is the first one I have shot. Pulled my old Aschutz 1813 out of the gun safe. Hadn't shot it in y e a r s. Would not think these 78 year old eyes could see through Irons any more. I think watching a wind probe real close, compensated for the failling eye sight.

Looks like you had a great match. I also need to ask you if you have any .177 airrifle scoring plugs?
Thanks

Hello Larry:

Yes, I do have a few of the .17 caliber gauges left. 6 Bucks each and I pay the postage.

Address:
Joe Haller
P.O. Box 1776
Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan 49783

When I ran out of the .22 caliber gauges and learned that the company that was supplying them to NRA was sold, I tried to contact the new company: Leaned that they decided to stop making the gauges. So what to do?

We have a couple in our club that has a small CNC Machine Shop. They also shoot rimfire benchrest with us. I gave them a drawing of the Official NRA gauge dimensions, and they started making the .22 caliber gauges.

Now they are making them in several calibers: For the Centerfire "Hunter Class": and "Varmint for Score" Guys, who use the IBS 6 bull score target.

Bob & Susan Hughes own "Hughes Precision". Besides the scoring gauges they make AR-15 parts and a new type of silencer (which may be legal in Michigan next year): Plus, a few other shooting goodies. Their main business has been parts for the auto industry.

You might be interested in looking at their website:

They even have copies of my graphic on how to score the USBR target on their website.

Have fun at the range:

Hey Joe,
guess who's moving to Applegate,MI?

Hey Joe,
guess who's moving to Applegate,MI?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Could it be John Harris? Or, maybe Gordon Gauge?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
According to Google Map, Applegate is 313 miles South-East of Sault Sainte Marie.

We got some good rimfire shootin UP here in the summer-time. But Summer time is gon'a end UP here in 4 more days!

We have one more week-end rimfire match this Season. Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 2 & 3.

Then comes Hunting Season. After that comes Snowmobile Season.

Our Gun Show will be on April 2 & 3 next year. Then our first 2011 Rimfire Match on April 17th.

Have fun on the range (Where-Ever & Then-Ever it is)

Mr. Frosty :)

Rumor has it that they are both going. Probably wont see you this year, but I'll be making that 313 come next thaw. Have a good time in Texas. See ya then!!!

My son Tim sez:

"Tell him to bring a set of jumper cables, cuz Applegate ain't much warmer then U.P. here in the winter time".

When yer car battery freezes up at 20 below, ya need "Jumper Cables".

Mr. Frosty :)

Thanks for the advice Tim. My nephew Tom is out here helping me pack and he has already had me install a "winter battery" so I'll get a good set of jumpers next.

I did work in the high desert of Wyoming in the oil patch so I can kind of remember how it gets. Found a couple pair of old long undies but unfortumately they seem to have shrunk up a lot sitting in storage. :D

Actually cant wait, there are sooo many people here now that San Diego is ruined. Was a great place to grow up in the '60's though....
