Marlin for accuracy?

Hey all. Im wanting a lighter weight 22lr for hiking and shooting squirrels.
Must be stainless so it can be taken out in rain and snow. Im looking at the Marlin 915YS youth stainless even though Im an adult and 5'11". Im just thinking that although they are noted for being fairly accurate I could always get a green mountain barrel and put a match chamber in it. They just seemed light and durable. Also my experience with feed ramps always shows they it actually damages the bullet and worsen groups. Any input is appreciated.
Id prefer a K10/22T but I dont want the weight.

Likely

The Marlin "as is" would be plenty for most squirrels. Stainless is fine but unless you're gonna be out there for extended periods without a dry paper towel don't rule out the non-stainless stuff.

Weight wise, carry comfort and equally functional for those squirrels would be a nice handgun. A good sight picture when the trigger breaks and you're good.

For a stock .22 I wouldn't rule out a CZ 452... they are very accurate out of the box. My Marlin 980S was fine as is... shoots pretty well after I rebarreled it.
