I picked up one of these for my daughter but the stock has been cut too short. I would like to find a full size stock for this.

This one does have a stock butt pad that extends but it is still too short.

Does anyone have an idea where I might be able to find a replacement stock?

Any help is great!

Thanks, Gary

More info....

I bought this from a Jr. club locally that was selling them off because they are only single shot bolt rifles which will not be correct for camp perry this year. They are buying different rifles for competition. I don't know how many of these are out there and if stocks are easily obtainable for replacements. I really don't think I want to sink the price of a new stock from the mfg. into this (even if they sell them). It may be more than what I have in the rifle.

Thanks, GRP

Marlin 2000

Ok, I'll keep looking for info....

I am also looking for a new stock for it and for the kit to turn it into 5 shot clip change. I have seen that they were available as a kit. Would anyone have any idea where I might be able to locate either?

Thanks,,,

GRP

Marlin is worthless as far as help with a 2000. Trust me I them called for mine.

This stock will work http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Boyds-Tacticool-Marlin-s/158.htm
From what I have read it might need bedding.

I am looking for an original 2000 stock at a reasonable price. Have been researching 980 magazines and metal for my 2000. Bruce:)

This rifle come as a singleshot, but a kit for summer biathlon converted it to a repeater 5 shot clip. The stock is blue and it's made out kevlar and fiberglass, I have one of those rifle I try to shoot in group shooting, it shoot's groups in the .600's and I'm still working on it. This type of rifle was made for about 3 years back in the 90's. The model that replaced was a 2000L with a wood (laminated). May this info will help. Rambo

PS: You may try gunpartscorp.com for part's which may be few and far between.

Just out of curiosity - which barrel does it have? I think Marlin used both 12 and 16 groove barrels when making the 2000.

Vibe, it is a 12 groove barrel. I haven't touched it since I got it, but now since I'm starting to do more with RM I'm going to be playing around with it.

Well, can you tell me what you have to share with that question? Can I learn anything about it?

Thanks, Gary

I remember there being a discussion about one possibly being more accurate than the other at one time. Don't think it was ever really decided. At the time Marlin was using the 12 groove for the "plinker" rifles as well, and only the 16 groove for the "Target" models, though as you see they really used whatever was handy, or whichever air-gauged the best more likely. I suspect is was more marketing than performance. But I also notice that the new Marlins advertise the use of 16 groove barrels, even on plinkers. The new Marlin site says that the 22 magnum is using a 20 groove barrel.

The 2000L i have is a 12 groove......it's worth less in the wind.
