Butch, I have not been here on BC for a long time and forgot my password, but with a little help I am back. I also lost your E-mail address on a harddrive crash, but I had your Cell number and left a mess there.
The cast bullet research has so-far been a train wreck for the VLD type bullets used at long range, but I have not given up. If I can make it work ???, I will post up the info for everybody to use. At this time I am back to using Berger VLDs, and right now I have some good lot numbers.
Over the years I have seen the actions, barrels, scopes, stocks, and gunsmithing improve to the point that we now have really good rifles to work with. The one thing that has not improved is the jacked bullets and at times they can be really bad. The cost of bullets is also going up, so if we (all shooters) can find a way to make our own bullets at low cost and control the quality it can only help the sport.
I hope this answers the Q for you, if not get back to me.
